Building SMK Vocational Center: Pemmz Introduces the Laptop Service Industry to Students

Visit of SMKN 1 Bekasi to Pemmz: Learning to Build a Professional Laptop Service Business
The PJBL Teaching Factory (TEFA) Program encourages vocational students to become future laptop technicians and entrepreneurs.

South Jakarta, April 23, 2025 — Pemmz welcomed a visit from SMKN 1 Bekasi as part of an ongoing collaboration through the Teaching Factory (TEFA) program based on Project-Based Learning (PJBL). This activity aims to equip students with real-world experience in building a professional and trusted laptop service business, while also introducing them directly to industrial workflows.

The event was opened by Taufiqurrachman Nasution, Head of Brand & Marketing at PT Pemindo Mitra Sinergi, who also presented the concept of Project-Based Learning (PJBL) as the foundation of TEFA implementation. He explained that the program is designed to instill independence and job readiness in students through real projects integrated with industry practices.

The session continued with a technical presentation by Ricky Naratama Yamin, Technical Development & After Sales Lead at PT Pemindo Mitra Sinergi, who outlined the complete service workflow — from customer intake to the return of devices in optimal condition. This provided students with an in-depth understanding of company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and professionalism in the technical service industry.

In addition, the Pemmz and PemmzChannel marketing teams delivered materials on product marketing strategies and technology branding. This highlighted the importance of synergy between technical and marketing divisions in building a strong, sustainable service business.

This visit marks the initial phase of the PJBL program, where students from SMKN 1 Bekasi will develop and present a business concept for a school-based service center. With support from Pemmz, the program aims not only to deliver learning outcomes but also to build a vocational center — a school-based business unit capable of operating independently, managing professional laptop service operations, and serving as real-world practice for students.
